PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy explains how Reclip ("the App," "we," "us") handles information when you use our mobile application. We built Reclip to work with as little personal data as possible. Please read this policy carefully to understand our practices.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Reclip does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other directly identifying personal information. We do not maintain user profiles or a server-side database of your personal identity.
2. Content You Provide
When you use the App, you may paste a publicly shared link from a supported social platform. This link is sent to our backend service solely to process your request and return the associated media content to your device. We do not store the links you submit, and we do not retain copies of the content you retrieve on our servers after your request is completed.
3. Information Collected Automatically
Like most apps, Reclip and its third-party service providers may automatically collect limited technical information to keep the App functioning correctly and to support our advertising partners. This may include:
- Device identifiers (such as your device's advertising identifier, IDFA), used for advertising purposes as described in Section 5 below.
- Usage data, such as general interaction patterns within the App (e.g., which features are used), which helps us and our advertising partners understand engagement.
- Diagnostic data, including crash reports and performance data, which helps us identify and fix technical issues.
4. Device Permissions
Reclip requests limited device permissions solely to provide its core functionality:
- Photo Library access: used only to save content you choose to retrieve directly to your device's photo library. We do not access, browse, or upload any other content already stored in your photo library.
- Clipboard access: used only to detect a supported link you've copied, so you don't have to manually paste it. We do not read, store, or transmit any other clipboard content.
5. Advertising and Third-Party Services
Reclip is supported by advertising, delivered through Unity LevelPlay, an ad mediation platform that may work with multiple advertising networks (currently including Unity Ads). To provide relevant advertising and measure ad performance, these services may collect and use:
- Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS)
- General device and app usage information
- Approximate location derived from your IP address (used for regional ad relevance, not precise location)
On iOS, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before any cross-app tracking identifier is used for advertising purposes. You can change this permission at any time in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.

6. Third-Party Content Processing
To retrieve media from a link you provide, the App communicates with a third-party API service that resolves publicly shared social media links into direct, downloadable content. This service processes only the link you actively submit, at the moment you submit it, and does not have access to any other information about you.
7. Data Retention
We do not retain your submitted links or the resulting content on our servers beyond what's technically necessary to complete your request. Content you choose to save is stored locally on your own device, under your control, and can be deleted by you at any time within the App.
8. Children's Privacy
Reclip is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can address it.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- You can disable ad tracking permissions at any time via your device's Settings.
- You can revoke Photo Library or Clipboard access at any time via your device's Settings.
- You can delete any content saved through the App directly from your device's Photos app or the App's own library screen.
- Depending on your region, you may have additional rights regarding data collected by our advertising partners — please refer to their respective privacy policies for details on exercising those rights.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
